Howdy howdy,
If you've stumbled upon this blog for whatever reason, well then, kudos to you. My name is -funky Kill Bill voice editing technique-, but you may call me WarHamster. And this piece of the Internet? Well, this is my online log dedicated to Games Workshop's wonderful miniatures and hobby games.
You see, I've been playing the hobby since 1998, back when my mother brought home a magazine (my first White Dwarf) emblazoned with a ferocious looking human decked out in red super armor. There was violence in every inch of that cover artwork, and it sang to me. It said, "Go forth, and start collecting these Blood Angels so that thy enemies may know fear."
And I did.
With that magazine, I learned about the hobby and how it had been around far longer than I. I begged my mother to purchase more of these magazines, to fuel this new addiction, and eventually, a boxed set. She officially became an enabler to a poor, addicted child. I fell in love with the models of that first set; the Warhammer 40,000 boxed set with Space Marines and Dark Eldar.
Together, my youngest brother and I started painting the Marines in Blood Angel colors, and invited a new color scheme for the Dark Eldar enemies. Before long, our meager forces soon became large enough to warrant a gaming table as the coffee table could no longer sustain such battles. By the time I reached college, I had a massive army of Blood Angels, a wicked legion of Dark Eldar, a smattering of Imperial Guard, and a host of Tau. By that time, I had started to collect Warhammer Fantasy as well with a small force of Empire and Bretonnian models.
In honor of the 8th Edition of Warhammer Fantasy, I've decided to do something out of the ordinary. After trolling around the interwebs for all manner of hobbying advice and tips, I've decided to create my own blog in honor of the games. My goal is to showcase my own work, the work of friends, the work of folks I don't even know (permission provided of course), and in general, all things Warhammer. I'm not a great painter, nor am I a great sculptor, but my passion for the hobby outweighs my own lackluster skills. I want to showcase the Warhammer world, and hopefully, bring in new faces to this old hobby.
So there you go. I like Warhammer. I like blogging. Therefore, consider this your warning; you've entered the WarHamster's Den.
